What happens now?
Are you feeling a little bit lost without the constant tracking action and daily update from what turned out to be rather an exciting race?
Well, the story of this year's Mongol Derby is still being told, of course. Kiwis Elise Searancke-Stables and Justine Hales are fresh from the steppe all bleary-eyed, bone weary and bursting with tales of their team and how it felt to cross the finish line of the world's longest and toughest horse race. For everyone in New Zealand, there should be an article in NZ Horse & Pony next month and for everyone NOT in New Zealand I'll post a PDF of the article here in December.
Watch this space for:
1. pictures and words from a few days' tramping up and down some mountains here on the South Island of New Zealand with two toddlers and all of our gear in our backpacks;
2. front line coverage from the best adventure race in the world, the Spring Challenge (28-29 September 2019);
3. a few feature posts on riders from previous editions of the Mongol Derby -
4. last but not least, a terrifically exciting project following some of the South Island's finest men and beasts over some of its most beautiful country. Well worth hanging around for, even if there will be quite a wait... with some snippets every now and then when I can't resist!
